Eighth Grade:

Keeping in the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy, St. Patrick’s School regularly participates in community activities that emphasize character development and a broader global awareness.  In September the 8^th grade class from St. Pat’s volunteered with Operation Surf, which teamed disabled veterans with professional surfers, to enable and encourage the veterans to learn how to surf.  Our 8^th graders helped the coordinating volunteers feed the veterans, the surfers and other volunteers who were at the Pismo Beach Pier Friday, September 4, 2009 through Sunday, September 6, 2009.  We had such a great time meeting our veterans and taking notes from the professional surfers!  The day was beautiful and all who attended were blessed!  To see more great pictures of the event or volunteer for next year’s please visit www.operationsurf.com.
